Cullen Drummer Exists to Equip Drummers for Worship.

This isn’t just about learning grooves or rudiments — it’s about discovering how drumming can be an act of worship that draws others closer to God. Every lesson is designed to help students grow in both skill and heart, preparing them to serve confidently on and off the stage.

Our Teaching Approach

At Cullen Drummer, we believe effective drumming education should develop more than technical ability.

Our approach is built around four essential pillars:

  • Character — Developing humility, discipline, preparation, and dependability.
  • Mindset — Learning to play with intentionality, confidence, and a heart to serve.
  • Musicianship — Strengthening technique, timing, dynamics, consistency, and musical awareness.
  • Ministry — Understanding how our musical gifts can support worship and serve the church.

Through practical instruction, personalized feedback, and real-world musical experience, our goal is to help drummers grow into confident, capable, and dependable musicians.

Worship drumming is about more than keeping time. It's about using your musical abilities to serve something greater than yourself.

Every note, dynamic choice, and musical decision contributes to the worship experience.

Great worship drummers understand how to:

  • Serve the Song — Play what the music needs, not simply what they can play.
  • Support the Team — Listen, communicate, and create a strong musical foundation.
  • Lead with Purpose — Approach every opportunity with intentionality, humility, and excellence.

When musicianship and ministry come together, drumming becomes more than a performance. It becomes an opportunity to serve.

Meet Brett Cullen

I'm Brett Cullen, a drummer, educator, and worship musician with over 20 years of drumming experience.

Throughout my musical journey, I've had the opportunity to perform, tour, and teach drummers of various skill levels—at one point working with 25 students simultaneously.

But one of the most important things I've learned is that being a great drummer doesn't automatically make someone a great worship drummer.

It's not just about technique or impressive fills. It's about understanding the music, serving the team, and knowing how to make every note count.

That's why I created Cullen Drummer: to help musicians develop the skills, mindset, and confidence to become worship drummers their leaders can trust.
